- After missing his first FG attempt of the night, Bears kicker Cairo Santos went 4-for-4 the rest of the way including the game-winner with 0:10 left. It marked Chicago’s first come-from-behind win in the fourth quarter since Week 1 of last season and snapped a 22-game losing streak in games it trailed at any point in the final period.
- Excluding kneeldowns, Bears QB Justin Fields accounted for all 65 yards gained by Chicago on the game-winning drive (52 passing, 13 rushing). It marked Fields’ third career game-winning drive and first this season.
- The Bears scored all 12 points on field goals and became the first team across the NFL to win a game this season despite not scoring a touchdown. Such teams entered the night 0-28 this season.
- Chicago intercepted a season-high four passes in the win, the Bears’ most in a game since Week 14 of 2018 against the Rams. Vikings QB Joshua Dobbs had never thrown more than two interceptions in a game during his NFL or college career.
- The Vikings scored a season-low 10 points in the loss and their 242 yards were their second-fewest in a game this season. Minnesota’s two games this season with fewer than 250 total yards both came against Chicago (220 at Bears in Week 6).

Chicago wide receiver DJ Moore has now posted back-to-back games with 22+ PPR points. Tonight was his fourth game with that point total, and it makes him only the eighth wide receiver to post four or more games of that caliber.
The Bears gave up a 9-3 lead earlier in the quarter to get in this spot, but they’re now in position to secure a come-from-behind win in the fourth quarter for the first time since Week 1 of last season against the 49ers.
Entering tonight, Chicago has lost 22 straight games it trailed at any point in the fourth quarter.
The Bears' turnover karma comes back to bite them. On third-and-10 and with what seems like loads of space in front of him, Justin Fields is hit by Vikings safety Josh Metellus and fumbles again. Recently re-signed linebacker Anthony Barr recovers, and the Vikings get the ball back with the game in their hands.
Of course, they go minus-5 yards in three plays and punt the ball back to Chicago with two minutes remaining.
Bears QB Justin Fields now has seven turnovers in the fourth quarter this season (four interceptions, three fumbles lost). Tied with Joshua Dobbs and Zach Wilson for most in NFL.
Minnesota tight end T.J. Hockenson has been one of the most consistent fantasy point scorers at the tight end position this season, as his touchdown catch gives him 16.0 PPR points on the day. It is his fifth game with 16+ PPR points, a mark that ties with George Kittle for the most in the league in that category.
The Minnesota offense finally wakes up, going 77 yards in eight plays following the Justin Fields fumble and converting in the red zone as Josh Dobbs hits tight end T.J. Hockenson for a lovely 17-yard pass over the middle for a touchdown. Despite Dobbs' four interceptions and being minus 3 in turnover differential, the Vikings improbably lead this game 10-9 with under six minutes remaining.
Just like that, the Vikings jump ahead 10-9 on a 17-yard touchdown pass to T.J. Hockenson.
Something worth mentioning: In two seasons under Matt Eberflus, the Bears entered the night 5-4 in games they held at least a six-point fourth-quarter lead (.556).
That’s tied with the Colts for the second-worst such record in the NFL over that span. Only the Cardinals (4-4) have been worse.
The over/under in this game just keeps going lower, as it now sits at 18.5 points in live in-game betting at BetMGM.
... But the Bears offense isn't much better. Justin Fields scrambles, is hit by Danielle Hunter and fumbles, and new Viking DT Sheldon Day recovers. Minnesota is down six points and regains possession with plenty of time remaining.
The Bears moved inside the Vikings’ 25-yard line for the fourth time tonight but come up empty following the Justin Fields fumble.
From those four drives, Chicago has six total points to show for it:
- Missed FG
- FG
- FG
- Fumble
Josh Dobbs is pressured again — it's easy to bring pressure when you can't run the ball and your quarterback can't throw it deep — and his attempt at a screen pass (I think?) is tipped and picked off by Kyler Gordon. It's his fourth interception of the game. It might be time to call off Dobbs' gubernatorial run.
That's now four interceptions by Vikings QB Joshua Dobbs, this one by Bears CB Kyler Gordon on the deflection. It's Chicago's first game with four interceptions since Week 14 of 2018 against the Rams.
With four interceptions tonight against the Vikings, the Bears defense has vaulted to third in the NFL with 13 this season. The Bears trail the 49ers (15) and Saints (14). There are six teams with 12.
They’ve got three field goals, but all it takes is one big play by the Vikings to take the lead. Cairo Santos’ 55-yarder is his sixth make from 50-plus yards this season. Roschon Johnson has had some quality runs. Justin Fields’ throw to DJ Moore on third down was clutch on the previous drive. The defense has been outstanding, but it’s got to keep playing at a high level to hold the lead. Could the Bears get their first divisional win under Matt Eberflus?
Cairo Santos extends the Bears’ lead to 9-3 with a season-long 55-yard field goal.
The make matches Santos’ career-long set in Week 6 of 2020 against the Panthers.
The sports betting public has been on board with the Vikings to make a comeback in this contest, but that group has now switched allegiance at the end of third quarter, as Chicago is now listed as a 2.5-point favorite in live in-game betting at BetMGM.
The Vikings again go for it on fourth down, but this time, Josh Dobbs' pass is tipped by Jaylon Johnson and intercepted by Bears linebacker T.J. Edwards. That is Dobbs' third interception of the evening and his ninth of the season.
It’s the first time in Dobbs’ NFL or college career that he’s thrown three or more interceptions in a single game.
It’s the Bears’ second straight and third game overall with at least three interceptions this season, most in the NFL.
The defensive holding call against CB Jaylon Johnson was the Bears’ fourth penalty that resulted in a Vikings first down tonight.
That’s already Chicago’s most in any game this season and as many as the Bears committed in the previous three games combined.
When a game has only nine points on the scoreboard late in the third quarter, the fantasy scoring expectations for that contest are limited.
That’s worth keeping in mind when noting that the Bears now have two players who have posted 10+ PPR points. The first is DJ Moore, who has 11.8 PPR points, while Roschon Johnson has 10.4. Cole Kmet is just short of joining that group, as he has tallied 9.9 PPR points thus far.
Bears fans on Twitter seem to be enjoying Luke Getsy's horizontally-focused passing game plan tonight. Justin Fields has thrown 14 passes at or behind the line of scrimmage thus far. At least he's completing them, though.
