Brown, a preseason Lisa Leslie Award watch list candidate, started all 33 games this season for the Blue Devils averaging 8.3 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.3 blocks. She posted double figure scoring in 14 games and pulled down at least five rebounds in 23 contests including three with 10-plus caroms. The Derby, Kan., product set the Duke record for most blocks in a first quarter vs. Florida State (Jan. 25), tallying four of her game-high five rejections during the period.
Additionally, Brown was one of the catalysts in helping the Blue Devils post the ACC's top defensive for the second consecutive season while checking in at No. 4 in the NCAA in that same metric, according to HerHoopStats.
Duke has had 26 student-athletes drafted since 1999 in the WNBA, with 11 of them being first-round draft selections - the marks ranking No. 4 and No. 5 all-time, respectively. The Blue Devils currently feature four alumnae in the league including Lexie Brown (Los Angeles), Chelsea Gray (Las Vegas), Elizabeth Williams (Chicago) and Jasmine Thomas (Los Angeles).
Indiana owns the No. 1 selection in the 2024 draft, followed by Los Angeles, Chicago, Los Angeles and Dallas in the top-five. Washington, Chicago, Minnesota, Dallas, Connecticut, New York and Atlanta round out the 12 picks in the first round. The draft will feature three rounds and a total of 36 selections.
