Beyoncé's song JUST FOR FUN, featuring Jones:
Willie Jones, from Shreveport, La., grew up loving country music and remembers wanting to be a country music artist since the age of 14.
Jones auditioned for The X-Factor in Greensboro, N.C., where he sang “Your Man” by Josh Turner. After an impressive audition, he was included in the second season. During his time on the show, he was mentored by Demi Lovato, a judge on X Factor from 2012 to 2013.
He later partnered with The Penthouse and Sony Music as a recording artist for his debut album, Something To Dance To.
“It’s a celebration of it all: the highs and lows, the loves and losses, the starts and ends, and the connective tissue of just being human,” Jones’ website says about the debut album. “Lacing traditional country soundscapes of steel guitar, banjo, and harmonica with Jones’ signature Louisiana hip-hop gumbo, the resulting sonic heartbeat reflects a man whose upbringing molded him into an innovator who bridges the Block Party and the Barn Dance.”
As a rising artist, Jones has been covered by NPR’s All Things Considered, Forbes, Rolling Stone, E! News, People, MTV, and more.
Willie Jone’s YouTube channel has grown in popularity recently, with more than 170,000 followers.
