Meet 'The White Lotus' Season 2 Cast and Characters

After more than one year of waiting, Season 2 of The White Lotus is finally here.

Originally penned as a limited series, creator Mike White opted to turn the series into an anthology show, filled with even higher levels of drama, scheming, betrayal, love, and loss than the first outing.

Season 2 of The White Lotus introduces a whole host of new characters alongside a few familiar faces. This time around, the characters are staying at the White Lotus resort in Sicily, Italy. What could possibly go wrong?

Newsweek has everything you need to know about the cast and characters of The White Lotus Season 2.

Parks and Recreation's Aubrey Plaza stars in The White Lotus as Harper Spiller.

Harper visits Sicily with her husband Ethan and his two wealthy friends, Cameron and Daphne Sullivan.

Speaking to Newsweek, Plaza described Harper as a "no-nonsense" woman who embarks on a "psychological" journey.

She shared: "Harper is kind of a no-nonsense kind of tough on the outside, professional woman with a soft, mushy inside. Her journey is with her husband played by Will Sharpe and it's about just marriage and the kind of peaks and valleys of marriage and I think the journey she goes on is kind of a psychological one and it's kind of about just someone's ideas of what they think their relationship is."

Giri/Haji star Will Sharpe takes on the role of Ethan, Aubrey's reserved and respectful husband.

Ethan has invited Aubrey on the trip with his college roommate, Cameron, a friendship that surprises Aubrey.

Sharpe told Newsweek his character Ethan is "hard to read," adding: "He recently made a lot of money in the tech industry. So, Ethan and Harper together have recently come into a lot of money, it's a new thing for them, I guess so they wouldn't ordinarily be on a holiday like this.

"Ethan's quite an internal character, he can be quite inscrutable and in matters sort of hard to read and he is quite a sort of submissive. When you first meet him, he's taking a guess s*** from all sides in a way sort of absorbing things."

Theo James stars as Cameron Sullivan, an obnoxious businessman who was Ethan's roommate in college.

Audiences will most likely recognize James from his role as Tobias "Four" Eaton in The Divergent film series.

Most recently, he starred as Henry DeTamble in The Time Traveler's Wife and Sidney Parker in Sanditon.

Meghann Fahy portrays Daphne Sullivan, Cameron's wife in The White Lotus.

Daphne and Cameron have a very close relationship and seem crazy in love but as the series progresses, the cracks begin to show.

Fahy is best known for playing Sutton in the Freeform series The Bold Type.

The Watcher's Jennifer Coolidge is one of only two cast members to return to The White Lotus from Season 1.

Coolidge is back as Tanya McQuoid Hunt, a wealthy and troubled woman. In Season 1 she was grieving the loss of her mother and in Season 2, she is trying to save her relationship with her husband, Greg.

Speaking to Newsweek, Coolidge teased that Tanya's mother's death in Season 1 really might just have been "the tip of the iceberg" for Tanya.

She shared: "Someone like Tanya, she is hiding behind her grief and in the first White Lotus, and that was sort of, someone just who had such a heavy load to carry for a very long time, regarding her mother's death.

"Sometimes you think when you take that away, things are going great. I [Tanya] met this guy I really like, the grief... I've spread my mother's ashes, and I'm able to work through that and then sometimes you realize that is just the tip of the iceberg to a whole new thing. I mean, people are unpredictable, and relationships are so unpredictable and you the odds of a relationship working out are sometimes very slim."

Seinfeld star Jon Gries has reprised his role as Greg in The White Lotus Season 2.

At the end of Season 1, Greg had been diagnosed with cancer and it was not thought he would survive. However, in Season 2 audiences learn the treatment Tanya paid for worked and as a result, Greg has a whole new perspective on life.

Greis shared it was an "amazing feeling" to come back considering he thought his character's storyline was finished.

He said: "I remember I had a conversation with Mike [White, creator] during the first season, when we were filming and he's like, you know, Tanya, and Greg might have to come back for Season 2' and I said, 'how can Greg come back for Season 2?' I was playing literally that he was dying because Mike wasn't telling me anything. So, I was like, he's gonna be dead."

Gries joked: "It's an amazing feeling to come back with my lovely wife."

Hayley Lu Richardson stars as Portia in The White Lotus Season 2.

Portia is Tanya's assistant who has traveled to Sicily only to be told she is no longer needed, at least for a while.

Audiences may recognize Richardson for her role as Krista in The Edge of Seventeen, Tess in Ravenswood, and Claire in Split.

Oscar-winning actor F. Murray Abraham portrays Bert Di Grasso in The White Lotus Season 2, the elderly father of Dominic.

Bert has taken his son and grandson all the way to Sicily to explore their family heritage, only strengthening tensions between the three generations of men.

Abraham is well-known for his role as Antonio Salieri in Amadeus and Dar Adal in Homeland.

Other well-known credits include Scarface, Isle of Dogs, and All the President's Men.

Michael Imperioli stars as the troubled Dominic in The White Lotus Season 2.

It is revealed at the beginning of the series that Dominic has cheated on his wife and that she plans to leave him. As a result, Dominic has turned to drink and sex, crossing paths with a young Italian sex worker.

Imperioli is best known for his role as Christopher Moltisanti in The Sopranos. His other credits include Project Blue Book, Escape at Dannemora, and Lucifer.

Up-and-coming actor Adam DiMarco stars as Albie, Dominic's sensitive son who strikes up a romance with Portia.

DiMarco's credits include The Order, The Magicians, and Radio Rebel.

Italian actress and comedian Sabrina Impacciatore portrays Valentina, the hotel manager of the White Lotus hotel in Sicily.

Impacciatore told Newsweek that compared to the last general manager of the White Lotus hotel, played by Murray Bartlett in Season 1, Valentina is more "implosive" compared to his "explosive" character.

She said: "What I love about Valentina is her complexity because she appears very tough, very aggressive, very repulsive somehow, but then we can see her changing according to the people that she needs. She resonates with people that she meets, and something opens up in her and reveals an aspect of her that we couldn't expect."

Newcomer Beatrice Grannò takes on the role of Mia in The White Lotus, a young Italian girl who has been hanging around the White Lotus hotel.

Speaking to Newsweek, Grannò gave a small insight into her character.

She teased: "My character, her name is Mia and she dreams to be a musician. She starts off with this very, innocent attitude, but then she eventually will realize that she has to do everything in her power in order to be a musician."

Lucia — Simona Tabasco

Up-and-coming Italian actress Simona Tabasco takes on the role of Lucia in The White Lotus.

Lucia is a young sex worker who strikes up a deal with Dominic. In a conversation with Newsweek, Tabasco described Lucia as "very strong," adding: "She takes what she wants at the end, you always get the impression that you can't catch her."

Quentin — Tom Hollander

Tom Hollander stars as Quentin, an English expat traveling with his friends and nephew in The White Lotus Season 2.

Hollander is well known for his roles as Corky in The Night Manager, The Reverend Adam Smallbone in Rev., Major Dalby in The Ipcress File, and Jim Beach in Bohemian Rhapsody.

The White Lotus Season 2 airs Sundays at 9 p.m. on HBO and HBO Maax
