WINONA, Minn. - The Winona State University Warriors soccer team looks to close out their home games against the University of Mary on Friday, October 25 and Minot State on Sunday, October 27 under the lead of their three seniors.The Warriors come off of a one game weekend against Southwest Minnesota State University where the Warriors were able to come out with a victory, winning 2-1. WSU collected goals from Johanna Shubert and Kyleigh Jannisch, who was assisted by Shubert and Jacey Sturek.
Winona State Notes:
- The Warriors will be honoring three seniors, Abigail Williams, Alyson Jumper, and Callie Menzel.
- WSU is 5-5-1 overall and 4-5 in the NSIC.
- Jannisch, Catheryn Hudak, and Williams all lead the Warriors with two goal a piece.
- Sturek leads the team in assists, with five, as well as being third in the NSIC for assists.
- Jumper only faced two shots on goal against SMSU.
- The Marauders are 7-2-3 overall and 5-1-3 in the NSIC.
- UMary has five players that all have three goals, Rachel Gensch, Olivia Gardner, Rio Sprenken, MaLiah Burke, and Allison Lepp.
- Gensch leads the Marauders with five assists.
- Both Gensch and Gardner lead the team with 16 shots on goal a piece.
- Molly Fischer leads the team in goal with 34 saves and five goals allowed so far this season.
- The Beavers are 6-2-4 overall and 4-2-3 in the NSIC.
- Anna Miotto leads the team with four goals on the season.
- Mia Lewis leads Minot State in assists collecting three so far this season.
- Miotto leads the team with 14 shots on goal so far this season.
- Siriana Gudino has collected 51 saves and has allowed five goals as goalkeeper so far this season.
