Schedules and Regulations for the US Open
Normally, the US Open starts in late August and till the second week of September.
The first round of the last US Open (2022) took place on August 29 and 30.
The second round took place between August 31 and September 1.
On September 2nd and September 3rd, the third round took place.
From September 4 to September 5, there was Round 16.
The quarterfinals took place from September 6 until September 8.
The women's semifinal games took place on September 8.
The men's doubles final was held on September 9.
Men's semifinal matches were also held on September 9.
On September 10, both the women's and mixed doubles championships were held.
On the final day which was September 11, the double championship (women) and men's championships were played.
Some Regulations
As at US Open 2022, a 10-point tiebreaker will be used to decide matches that are tied 6-6 in the deciding set. The winner of the match is the first player to reach 10 points with a lead of two or more points.
A conventional 7-point tiebreaker will be used if the score in a set before the decisive set is 6-6. The set is won by the first player to reach seven points with a lead of two or more points.
Every singles match for the women is the best of three tie-break sets. The match is decided by who wins the first two sets.
Each men's singles match consists of the best of five tie-break sets. The match is decided by who wins the first three sets.
A set is won by the first player to score six victories. The first player to reach 7 games wins the set if the set score is tied at 5-5. A tiebreaker will be used to decide the set if is deadlocked at 6-6.
