Music producer and songwriter Fernando Garibay said he was so moved by the message of Sound of Freedom that he wrote a theme song for it just days before the film’s theatrical release.

“I was shocked first at that someone is actually creating content to create awareness about what’s happening to protect children, and I was moved by that,” Garibay told the Washington Examiner. “And then I asked, ‘So, what’s the music like?’ They were like, ‘Well, we don’t have a theme song.’”

MUSK VS. ZUCK: HOW TWO OF TECH’S RICHEST MEN HAVE BEEN RIVALS FOR YEARS

Sound of Freedom details the true story of how Tim Ballard, a former federal agent with Homeland Security, quit his job and risked his life to journey into the jungles of Colombia in an effort to save children from sex slavery.

“How are movements created? Through every march of war, there has been a battle song. I wanted to create a battle song.” Garibay said. “The music is the ultimate buffer to allow the transition to happen. That was the responsibility I felt we had.”

In addition to being used in a music video for the film, the theme song, titled Sound of Freedom, can be heard playing during the film’s credits.

The power of music goes beyond — it surpasses our linguistic abilities, and that’s what’s powerful,” Garibay said. “When you use and understand this, and use it as an instrument for change — that’s when the real magic happens because you are able to inspire people toward action. You’re able to inspire people toward a cause. You’re able to inspire people to inspire themselves.”
