When asked, "will you accept this rose?" Tajh Boyd simply said "no."

Boyd, a former Clemson quarterback, really wanted to return to the school to be a coach. He wanted to come back so badly that he had the chance to go on the dating show "The Bachelorette," but turned down the opportunity.

Instead, Boyd, who is now an offensive assistant at Clemson, chose his love for football and the Tigers. He revealed all of this on National Signing Day.

Here he is talking about it:

The 31-year-old QB played college football at Clemson and was the team's starting quarterback from 2011-2013. Boyd was then selected by the New York Jets in the sixth round with the 213th overall pick of the 2014 NFL Draft. He was released by the team in the same year.

Boyd then followed an odd path. He went from the NFL, to the Fall Experimental Football League, to the CFL and then to South Carolina to try his hand at coaching.

On July 19, 2021, the former Tiger announced that he was returning to Clemson to continue his coaching career as an offensive assistant. This season Clemson has a 9-3 overall record with a 6-2 conference record.
