The 2024 college football bowl season continues to gift fans with rare matchups.
One such game will feature Texas A&M football (8-4) taking on USC (6-6) in the Las Vegas Bowl on Friday. This will be the fourth-ever meeting between the programs, and the first since 1977.
Following a 7-1 start to the season and a chance to compete for the 12-team College Football Playoff, Texas A&M ended the season with three losses in four games. That includes a 17-7 loss at the hands of rival Texas, eliminating the Aggies from CFP contention.

On the other sideline, third-year USC coach Lincoln Riley will look to get the Trojans to finish with a record over .500. After a pair of wins over Nebraska and UCLA to gain bowl eligibility, USC fell 49-35 to Notre Dame to conclude the regular season.
USC is 1-0 vs. SEC teams this season after picking up a 27-20 win over LSU in the season opener. Texas A&M has not played a Big Ten opponent since beating Northwestern 33-22 on Dec. 31, 2011, in the Meineke Car Care Bowl of Texas in Houston.

Texas A&M football vs USC football history
Friday's matchup will be the fourth-ever meeting between Texas A&M and USC on the gridiron. The Trojans are a perfect 3-0 vs. the Aggies heading into Friday's game, including two bowl victories.
The Aggies and Trojans' first-ever matchup occurred at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum Los Angeles on Oct. 10, 1964. USC bounced back from a 17-7 loss to Michigan State the week before beating a winless Texas A&M team that finished the 1964 season 1-6.
Since then, the teams have squared off twice in bowl games. The Trojans earned a 20-0 win in the Liberty Bowl in Memphis, Tennessee, on Dec. 22, 1975. In the most recent meeting, USC defeated Texas A&M 47-28 in the Bluebonnet Bowl in Houston.
