Best, worst Super Bowl commercials in 2023: The biggest winners ...
More than one team caught an L on Super Bowl Sunday.
Outside of the cheese-less nachos, the lack of good beer selections and the mediocre spinach and artichoke dip, there were plenty of other disappointments during Super Bowl 57.
Namely, the commercials.
Advertisers have been chasing the best, most heartwarming and most entertaining Super Bowl ads for years, and there have been some very big swings and some very big hits — and also some massive whiffs.
Super Bowl 57 didn't exactly feature a number of "bad" commercials. In fact, there were more good commercials than there were outwardly bad commercials. Even the "bad" ads fit more in the "boring" bucket.

There were some winners and more than a handful of losers. Here's five of the best and five of the not-so-great ads from this year's Super Bowl:
Best Super Bowl commercials 2023 Bud Light: 'Hold'Bud Light had become something of a meme of itself in recent years. The brand had become hyper-focused on bizarre imagery to create viral moments, rather than focusing on brand and fun.
This year, they took a significantly toned-down approach with their Super Bowl spot featuring Miles Teller and his wife Keleigh Sperry. It's an entertaining commercial that focuses on fun more than absurdity, and that makes for a good, lighthearted ad that doesn't attack your senses.
BENDER: Super Bowl 2023 winners & losers
Dunkin'Bennifer is back in a big way.
Putting "Gigli" firmly in the rearview mirror, Ben Affleck stars in a hilarious Dunkin' ad in which he poses as a drive-thru worker in a Massachusetts location. Complete with a thick Boston accent, Affleck serves up laughs with cream and sugah.
The Farmer's Dog: 'Forever'The Clydesdales ran so the Labrador could … also run, or something.
Emotional commercials usually play well during the Super Bowl, largely because you're hip deep in light beers and more than a few handfuls of nachos away from spending extra time at the gym on Monday. They still have to be right, though, and The Farmer's Dog got it right by tugging at your heartstrings with this "Forever" big game ad.

Samuel Adams: 'A Brighter Boston'Bizarro Boston is a frightening place, but it makes for a good commercial.
Samuel Adams' "Cousin" campaign has long been a hit, with Greg Hoyt portraying your Boston-accented cousin from Beantown. This year, he has some help from Kevin Garnett, in hopes to make Boston a better, brighter place. Whether or not that's actually a doable thing remains to be seen, but it makes for a great Super Bowl commercial.

Rakuten: 'Not-So Clueless'Is it the best ad? Probably not — but Alicia Silverstone has hardly aged a day as she steps into Cher Horowitz's highly expensive and iconic wardrobe once again, this time for Rakuten.
Alongside rival Amber (Elisa Donovan), Cher is here to save you money by using Rakuten's cash-back possibilities. We're still wondering whether or not she found her white collarless shirt from Fred Segal.

Worst Super Bowl commercials 2023 Avocados from MexicoWhile avocados make a lot of things better, unfortunately, Super Bowl ads isn't one of those things.
Let's get past the fact that avocados have been a staple of Super Bowl advertising for some years now, their commercials have generally been more good than bad. While this year's ad isn't necessarily bad, it was outdone in concept by the Sam Adams ad from above.

FanDuel's 'Kick of Destiny'Months of speculation led to … this.
Rob Gronkowski is known for being loud and brash and fun, which is why the commercial kind of fits. Still, it was utterly and wholly unsatisfying, and the notion of the commercial being "live."
There's also some question as to whether or not the ball was even legit — it looks a tad bit CGI, doesn't it? Also, didn't it kind of look like the kick was good at first blush? No matter. We don't like being hoodwinked.

Tubi: 'Interface Interruption'Truth be told, the Tubi ad could fit in the above "best" ads, too.
Points for creativity, Tubi, but the last thing any half-wasted Super Bowl fans need is to be utterly confused over what we're watching. While the ad itself is novel in concept, getting enraged over whether or not your toddler nephew Johnny got ahold of the remote isn't a fun ad for anyone, really. Thankfully, it was short, much like Jalen Hurts' Hail Mary at the end of regulation.

GM: 'Why not an EV?'Will Ferrell is cool. Netflix is cool. Electric vehicles are cool (and good for the environment). So why is this commercial a miss?
It certainly feels like it was just a random elements thrown into a pot to make for an entertaining commercial, but ultimately, it fell very flat. There's not much memorable about it aside from an apparently gaudy budget, and some decent fan service.
