Mayor Sarno and City Officials join with Springfield St Patricks Day
Mayor Domenic J. Sarno and city and state officials joined with the Springfield St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee, and family, friends and neighbors to celebrate Irish Heritage with a morning St. Patrick’s Day Mass at Sacred Heart with Bishop William

Joining Mayor Sarno was Kerri Sullivan who emceed the event, City Councilors Kateri Walsh, Attorney Sean Curran, Tim Allen, Jesse Lederman, Justin Hurst, Tracye Whitfield, and Councilor and Parade Marshall Attorney Michael Fenton, School Committeeman Chris Collins, State Senators Adam Gomez and Jacob Oliveira, State Representative Bud Williams, Hampden County Register of Deeds Cheryl Coakley-Rivera, Police Superintendent Cheryl Clapprood, Superintendent of Schools Daniel Warwick, Veterans Affairs Deputy Director Joe DeCaro, Executive Director of Parks, Buildings and Recreation Management Patrick Sullivan, Spirit of Springfield President Judy Matt, and Mayor Sarno’s Chief of Staff Tom Ashe, Communications Director Bill Baker and Director of Constituent Services Molly Shea.        

Also, in attendance were some of the Springfield St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee Awardees including Parade Marshall City Councilor Michael Fenton, Esq., John & Agnes Burke Award wines Eamonn Burke and Michael Ireland, Paul Caron Award winner Siobhan Cullen, Mary B. Troy Appreciation Award winner John Sullivan and Nathan Bill’s Bar and Restaurant, and the Springfield Colleen Caitlyn Feeley and her Court Kiley Arsenault, Ayden-Maeve Bradley, Meghan Curley and Norah Doyle.    

Mayor Sarno states, “I want to thank our Springfield St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee for keeping our Irish heritage and traditions going strong.  Irish-Americans have truly enriched our City of Springfield, our Commonwealth and Nation.  I truly enjoy celebrating St. Patrick’s Day as Mayor Domenic J. ‘O’Sarno’.  Again, congratulations to all the award winners, our Springfield Colleen, and her court.  I am looking forward to marching in the St. Patrick’s Day parade on Sunday with our Springfield Police Department contingent.”

Following the flag raising, Mayor Sarno, City Councilors Michael Fenton, Tim Allen, Jesse Lederman and Sean Curran joined with the seniors at the Hungry Hill Senior Center with Hungry Hill Neighborhood Council President Cathy Mossi and Hungry Hill Senior Center Coordinator Linda Henley for their annual St. Patrick’s Day celebration which featured live music, traditional Irish food and dancing from the Black Rose Academy of Irish Dance.
