Selma Blair is taking yet another step in her efforts to advocate for people with disabilities, and this time, it revolves around fashion.
On Thursday, People magazine reported that Blair and longtime friend and fashion designer Isaac Mizrahi will launch an accessible clothing line in partnership with QVC on Friday. Titled simply Isaac Mizrahi Live! x Selma Blair, the actress said designing the line has been a goal of hers for years — since she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2018.
The collection, Blair and Mizrahi said, was developed with and for the disability community, and the clothing feature disability-friendly designs, such as easy-open necklines, magnetic closures, stretch fabrics and flat seams.
Isaac Mizrahi Live! x Selma Blair includes 15 styles including shirts, sweaters, jackets, pants and accessories from $49 to $129.
Blair told the publication that the style is almost '70s-inspired, with silky blouses and tweed-looking jackets.
"They're very kind of YSL seventies to me. And I love, not that anyone would always want this, but I find the magnetic button plackets look really sexy, for the disabled and non-disabled. And I do wear them," she told People. "I cannot get enough of the blouses and I didn't have any that I could just wash that are really expensive looking. And I've always worn and loved a little Chanel jacket or a little Marc Jacobs jacket, so there is a very classic kind of riff on that little jacket, but it's washable. It's just a whole new world for me to discover washable clothes."
According to Blair, the pair have worked together frequently since meeting in 2002, when Mizrahi designed her dress for the premiere of The Sweetest Thing.
"It all came together so perfectly," Blair said. "I ran into him [Mizrahi] at a restaurant in New York City after I got my diagnosis and remember saying to him, 'I hope one day maybe we can collaborate on something that can be accessible for the disabled and non-disabled' and he said, 'That would be great. We'll have to find that.' And then here we are."

According to Mizrahi, giving Blair and others who shop the collection the chance to dress themselves was an integral part to the design process.
"When I first saw her in them, it was very emotional for me because I think that was some way to relieve her strife, you know what I mean?" he said. "I am trying not to say too much because it's really about Selma's experience, her story. All I'm doing is helping."
Blair also said she hopes to expand the line to include men's clothes and other styles.
"If the market would ask for that goal to be filled, I want to be the one to fill it," she said. "But that's what I would hope, that there could be a line of real chic basics that can be more accessible for all genders or clothing needs."
The pair will appear live on QVC on Friday to premiere the line, and items are available for purchase online.
