‘Moon Knight’: Oscar Isaac in talks for new Disney Plus series

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is reportedly adding another star to its team as Oscar Isaac is in talks to lead the upcoming Disney Plus series “Moon Knight”.

The series, which was announced at the Disney expo D23 last year, follows the travails of Marc Spector, an ex-mercenary who employs multiple identities and summons the powers of an Egyptian god to fight crime.

Marvel and Disney Plus have yet to attach a director to the series, but they’ve tapped Jeremy Slater — who wrote and developed Netflix’s “The Umbrella Academy” — as the project’s head writer, Deadline reported.

Isaac is no stranger to Marvel and Disney. The acclaimed actor played the headstrong Resistance pilot Poe Dameron in the recent “Star Wars” sequel trilogy. And in 2016, before Disney’s acquisition of X-Men, he donned prosthetic cheeks and purple face paint to portray the villain, Apocalypse, in the commercially successful but critically panned ninth installment of Marvel’s X-Men series, “X-Men: Apocalypse.”

“Moon Knight”is one of eight new MCU shows slated for streaming on Disney Plus, according to Collider. While the show’s production timeline remains unclear, “WandaVision,” the first MCU series of the batch, is expected to release in December.
