We never tire of National Day days because we almost always have something relevant – and usually delicious – to share.
Friday, April 7, is National Beer Day, and we’re looking at the new and growing options for local craft beer in Oregon.
Double Mountain Brewery is set to open its third location in North Portland, serving up brews and its popular pizza in a former Lucky Labrador location.

Labyrinth Forge Brewing announced its first tasting room and commercial brewery in Southeast Portland.

The pandemic forced Reverend Nat’s Hard Cider to close its Portland tasting room, but the cidery re-opened in a new location on March 24.

Crux Fermentation Project, based in Bend, announced plans to take over the space left by Vagabond Brewing’s pandemic closure. The Crux Portland Pub will open in Southeast Portland this summer.

Upright Brewing's new taproom
Upright Brewing serves up its farmhouse, lager, hoppy and Old World pub style beers in an abandoned former gas station in the Cully neighborhood of Northeast Portland. The Beer Station opened in February 2023, and will soon have onsite food carts. Plus it’s got a screen for viewing Blazer and Timbers games.

Cooper Mountain Ale Works is opening a downtown Sherwood location in the former home of Smockville Brewhouse, which closed in August.

Backwoods Brewing has announced plans to open its third location – this one in Ridgefield on nearly an acre that will include ground and mezzanine dining spaces plus an outdoors drinking and dining area.

Family-and-friends-owned Time Travelers brewing has taken over the old Fearless brew pub in Estacada, serving up beers with a story. Each beer follows the story of time travelers off on a fantasy adventure to find the ingredients to make the perfect beer called Nectar of the Gods. New beers will bring new chapters.

Gigantic Brewing just got a smidge more gigantic: The Southeast Portland brewery has opened its third location, a pub on Southeast Hawthorne Boulevard that is the operation’s first foray into food service.
