AC Milan vs Chelsea live score: Jorginho penalty, Aubameyang strike have Blues in front after Tomori sent off in Champions League match

Half-time substitute Gallagher is right into the action, getting the ball in Milan's box. Tatarusanu comes out to close down the angle, but Gallagher goes by him and has an open net to shoot at, albeit from a tight angle. He can only fire his effort into the side-netting though.

Milan have made a bright start to the second half, getting the ball into the box and nearly finding Giroud there before Chelsea's defenders are able to get the ball away.

Graham Potter makes one change as the second half begins, bringing on Conor Gallagher in place of first-half standout player Mason Mount.

The Athletic's Simon Johnson reckons we could see Graham Potter make changes in the second half that reflect Chelsea's very strong position in this match, up two goals and a man.

Fikayo Tomori can take solace in knowing that he's not the first ex-Chelsea player to be sent off playing against the Blues in the Champions League, after Tal Ben Haim suffered the same fate in 2015 while playing for Maccabi Tel Aviv.

Chelsea are ending the half in complete control, as they dominate possession and look to create clear-cut chances.

Chelsea are not resting on their laurels content with a two-goal lead, as they continue to pressure Milan's goal. James looks to loft a ball into the box to Aubameyang at the far post, but his pass is too strong and goes out for a goal kick. Chelsea are back on the attack only moments later though, as Mount lashes a shot that Tatarusanu is able to parry to safety.

Stefano Pioli makes his first change since going down to 10 men, as US international Dest comes on for Brahim.

The bookings don't stop, as Krunic becomes the third Milan player shown a yellow card, in addition to the red card shown to Tomori.

Things have gone from bad to worse for the hosts, as Mount plays in both Sterling and Aubameyang. They almost trip over one another, but Aubameyang takes charge and strikes the ball, beating Tatarusanu at his near post.

Tonight's referee, Daniel Siebert, continues to call a very tight game, this time showing Gabbia a yellow card.

Sterling picks up a yellow card for a challenge on Krunic. It's the third yellow shown in this match already, after both Giroud and Mount picked up bookings earlier.

Giroud has a free header in the middle of the box to score against his former team, but he can't direct his effort on target and it trickles wide.

"It's a garlic milkshake of a header this," says Ray Hudson.

Kovacic shoulders Hernandez off the field, and the Milan players remonstrate with the referee, still unhappy with the penalty and red card.

After a quiet start, this game has burst into life. VAR wasn't interested in intervening in the referee's call, so Jorginho, an Italian international, steps to the penalty spot and sends Tatarusanu the wrong way.
