Michigan RB coach Mike Hart carted off field at Indiana
According to Fox television broadcast, Mike Hart, Michigan's running backs coach, had a seizure while standing on the sidelines during the Wolverines' first quarter against Indiana.
Hart fell to the ground after Indiana scored an extra point to tie it at 7. There was only 4:57 remaining in the quarter. Michigan's players cleared out the bench and spread across the field, with many of them dropping to one knee.
As Hart was being trained by trainers, several Michigan coaches, including Jim Harbaugh, were nearby.
Hart was taken to the hospital on a stretcher, but Hart was still moving his head and extremities when the Hoosiers coaches arrived on the field to check on him.
Hart left Memorial Stadium to undergo further evaluation at a hospital.
Fox reported Hart reached out at halftime to update the team on his health and state of mind.
From 2017 to 2020, Hart was a Hoosiers assistant coach. He moved to Michigan, where he continued his football career. He was a player and rushed for over 5,000 yards. He is still the career-rushing leader for the fourth-ranked Wolverines.
Donovan Edwards and Blake Corum, Michigan's running backs, were visibly emotional as Hart was being taken off the field.
