Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Release Family Holiday Card Featuring First Photo of Lilibet Diana

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle finally gave the public a first glimpse of their second child, Lilibet Diana, posing with their six-month-old daughter and two-year-old son Archie for their annual holiday card.

The royal couple released the family portrait on Thursday. It was taken by Alexi Lubomirski this past summer at their home in Santa Barbara, California. In the candid shot, Harry, Meghan, and Archie wear jeans and simple blue and white tops, smiling at Lilibet as Meghan lifts the baby high into the air. “This year, 2021, we welcomed our daughter, Lilibet, to the world,” the Duke and Duchess of Sussex wrote in a statement accompanying the holiday card. “Archie made us a ‘Mama’ and a ‘Papa,’ and Lili made us a family.” This Christmas will be Lilibet’s first, as the couple welcomed the baby at the beginning of June.

The pair also revealed that they made donations through their Archewell Foundation on behalf of their children “to several organizations that honor and protect families–from those being relocated from Afghanistan to American families in need of paid parental leave.” That list includes Team Rubicon, Welcome.US, Human First Coalition, and Paid Leave for All, among others. They concluded their special message by writing: “Wishing you a happy holiday season and a prosperous New Year, from our family to yours!”

During an appearance on The Ellen Show in November, Meghan opened up about what their life at home has been like since they relocated to America, explaining that she and Prince Harry are “just happy.” She added, “We moved here during lockdown, exactly when things shut down, so we’ve just been able to spend a lot of time at home and creating our home, but I think it’s just the lifestyle, and the weather is pretty great.”
