A MARRIED cop sobbed "what's my mum going to say" after murdering his lover when she exposed their affair, a court heard today.

Timothy Brehmer, 41, is accused of strangling nurse Claire Parry, 41, in a Dorset pub car park on May 9.

The married officer, who had been having an affair with Claire for ten years, then broke down when paramedics arrived, it was said.

Jurors at Salisbury Crown Court heard how Brehmer, who had allegedly stabbed himself in the arm with a penknife, sobbed: "I've f***ed up".

The officer, who denied murder but admits manslaughter, also said "god, she's got kids" after allegedly strangling the mum-of-two in a Citroen C1.

Jurors were today shown bodycam footage of Brehmer crying and saying "I'm sorry" as officers told him he would be arrested.

The cop, who was topless, could be seen with a visibly injured left arm and blood over his shorts.

When asked what happened, sobbing Brehmer replied: "We've been having an affair for years.

"She forced me to meet her, she was going to tell my wife, I was going to lose my boy.

"I met her here, she was going through my phone… She was going to tell my wife."

'WHAT'S MUM GOING TO SAY?'

In the back of an ambulance, Brehmer continues: "She wouldn't get out of the car, I just wanted to go and kill myself."

The court was told Brehmer said to a paramedic "what's my mother going to say?" and repeatedly told them "she was so, so angry".

Footage taken in hospital then showed Brehmer saying "I'm a good man", "I think she stabbed me".

He could also be heard talking of his desire to take his own life, it was said.

Paramedic Samer Al-khateb, told the court how Claire had blood on her face and discolouring around her neck.

Colleague James Best said he realised he knew Claire after finding her NHS ID card.

'CRYING HYSTERICALLY'

Describing her position within the car, he told the court: "It looked as if someone had fallen asleep with their head against the door and then the door had been opened.

"She had blue lips - it was obvious to me she was not breathing. I checked her for a pulse and she didn't have one.

"I found her NHS card and realised it was Claire. I knew Claire through the job as historically we used to socialise but that was a long time ago.

"Knowing that people at the hospital would know her I contacted the liaison team."

Dorset Police PC Martin Brown told jurors he recognised Brehmer when called to the scene.

He added: "I said [to my colleague] 'doesn't that guy look like Tim Brehmer?' and as I approached it looked more like Tim.

"I said 'are you OK Tim? What's happened?' and he looked at me and said 'I can't remember' and began to cry hysterically."

The court heard previously how Brehmer had told wife Martha at around 12pm he was going to pick up some steaks for a family BBQ planned later that day.

Around three hours later, she received a message saying "I am cheating on you" from her husband's phone.

The court was told Claire had actually sent the text to Martha after growing "angry and upset" with her lover.

She had allegedly discovered Brehmer was having affairs with at least two other women and was dubbed "Mr Smooth" for his string of mistresses.

One, DC Kate Rhodes, told jurors she "quickly fell in love with him" - but she finished the relationship when she found out he was married.

She said he later made her "feel like a piece of meat" by texting her while she was on holiday with her husband, calling her a "dirty b***h" and suggesting they meet for sex.
