Women's Basketball Readies For Clash At #23 Marquette Sunday

She shot .500 percent from the floor (9-18) and .750 percent from the line (6-8), while also adding on six rebounds. Almqvist averages 19.7 points per game and is ranked third in the Ivy League in scoring. • Senior Jordan Obi also shot .500 from the floor (7-14), adding 18 points. Obi is top 10 in the Ivy League in scoring (13.3) and rebounding (6.4), as well as top three in both steals (2.3) and blocks (1.9). • Freshman Mataya Gayle continued to impress with another double-digit outing knocking in 18 points, her second straight game with 10 or more points. She also added a career-high eight rebounds and three assists. • Junior Lizzy Groetsch posted 17 points and nine rebounds, her third game this season tying her career high in boards. • The duo of freshman Ese Ogbevire and sophomore Saniah Caldwell dished out nine of the 21 total assists for the Quakers. Ogbevire posted a career-high five assists, while Caldwell had a career-high four. • For the third time in four games, the Quakers shot over .500 for the game. Hitting 33-for-63, they shot .524 for the night, while knocking in 10-for-12 at the line. Penn is shooting .439 for the season, second best in the Ivy League, only behind Columbia's .440. Stat Leaders•Almqvist leads the Quakers in points (19.7) and rebounds (7.0) per game and is third in the Ivy League among all players. • Obi leads Penn in steals (2.3) and blocks (1.9) and is top three in both categories among all Ivy League players. • Gayle leads the Red and Blue in assists (3.1) and is tied for top 10 in the Ivy League. • Groetsch takes the top spot for three-point percentage with .500 and is fifth among all players in the Ivy League. • Penn is ranked third in both points per game (72) and points margin (5.4) among all Ivy teams. A Look Ahead• The Quakers continue their road stretch for another three games, facing Villanova (Dec. 5), Merrimack (Dec. 8) and Temple (Dec. 10).
