A former world champion meets a current world champ in a big-time lightweight bout on Saturday night, as Vasiliy Lomachenko gets set to take on Masoyoshi Nakatani in Las Vegas.

Lomachenko is one of Top Rank’s most popular fighters, and is one of the best in his weight class, wtih Ring Magazine calling him the no. 1 Lightweight in boxing today. The Ukrainian fighter has plenty of gold connected to his name. He won gold medals at both the 2018 and 2012 Olympic Games, and is also a former WBA and WBO Lightweight champion. He holds a 14-2 record, with 10 wins coming via knockout.

While he is listed as the underdog, Nakatani is certainly no slouch. Currently the WBO Inter-Continental Lightweight champ, the Osaka-native is 19-1 in his career, with 13 knockouts, and started off his career undefeated in his first 18 matches before his first defeat. Between 2014 and 2018, Nakatani defended the OPBF title 11 times.
