Lakers vs. Heat Final Score: LeBron James, Anthony Davis lift L.A. past Miami 113-110

The Miami Heat put up a good fight, but they weren’t able to protect their home court and keep the Los Angeles Lakers from extending their road win streak to 13 games, losing 113-110.

The Heat caused all sorts of problems for the Lakers in the first half and Miami even led Los Angeles by seven at the half, but it’s hard to keep two MVP candidates in LeBron James and Anthony Davis from taking over.

James and Davis combined for 61 points and 19 rebounds. James was especially good at finding the holes in Miami’s defense, dishing out a game-high 12 assists to go along with 9 rebounds. Meanwhile, Davis took care of things on the defensive end, blocking three shots.

The rest of the starters came up big down the stretch — particularly Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, who hit a big 3-point shot in the fourth quarter and some clutch free throws. Caldwell-Pope ended the night with 15 points on 6-9 shooting from the field.

JaVale McGee was incredible in his limited action too, posting 9 points, 10 rebounds and five blocks in 17 minutes. Yes, you read that right — five blocks in 17 minutes. Dwight Howard may have closed the game, but McGee was just as crucial in the win.

The game was neck-and-neck for a full 48 minutes, but James and Davis were the difference for the Lakers on Friday. The Heat shouldn’t feel too bad, though, because James and Davis have been too much for most teams to handle this season.

The Lakers will be back at it on Friday to take on the Atlanta Hawks, a team that has lost eight of their last 10 games. It should be a fun one.
