Football World Reacts To Justyn Ross’ Slide During NFL Draft
Justyn Ross was once considered one of the top wide receiver prospects in college. Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney even said he’s a “first round talent.” Unfortunately, NFL teams don’t agree.
Through 165 picks in the 2022 NFL Draft, Ross remains available for the taking. It’s a stunning outcome. The former Clemson star was once viewed as a first-round talent.
Ross’s NFL Draft slide stems from a serious medical condition that was found back in 2020. Doctors discovered Ross was born with a congenital fusion in his spine, a condition called Klippel-Feil syndrome. The condition calls for the avoidance of physical activities – like football – that can cause neck injuries.
The former highly-touted prospect later underwent surgery, but there’s still concerns about his longterm health.
It appears teams are weary of drafting a player with such a concerning medial issue.
“It’s just a bummer to see Justyn Ross still sitting there. Pre-surgery, the dude was an absolute monster,” Adam Kramer tweeted.

“Crazy how WR Justyn Ross was once considered one of the best WRs coming out of college but the injuries are making him fall. If he can stay healthy in the NFL he’d be a great WR for any team,” a fan said.

It’s starting to look like Ross could end up becoming an undrafted free agent.

However, there’s still a belief Ross can be a highly-impactful player in the NFL.
“Sleep on Justyn Ross if you want. Y’all are going to find out,” one fan tweeted.

Ross, meanwhile, is confident he can have a long NFL career. Talent has never been the question.
“Once a team gets me, they’re going to get everything out of me,” Ross told ESPN. “I’m still that same player everybody knows.”
