Jets-Seahawks Game Recap Green & White Can't Hang on to Early ...
Adams, who finished the game with 5 catches for a team-high 66 yards, gave the Jets a 6-0 lead (missed PAT) with an 8-yard touchdown reception in the first quarter. It was the Jets' first time scoring first in a game since Week 6 against the Bills.
RB Kene Nwangwu, who forced a fumble on the ensuing kick return that led to Davis' first NFL touchdown, extended the Jets' lead to double digits with a 99-yard return score following Seattle's first TD (12-yard pass from Geno Smith to TE AJ Barner). It was his first return with the Jets after he was called up from the practice squad Saturday and the fourth of his career.
Rodgers had a chance to perhaps give the Jets an insurmountable lead in the second quarter after Seattle's first TD. After recovering a muffed kick on the Seahawks 38-yard line, Rodgers later missed an open Garrett Wilson near the corner of the end zone. Williams picked off Rodgers on the next play and ran 92 yards for the score, cutting the lead, 21-13 (Quinnen Williams blocked PAT).
"I tried to throw it inside, the wind was blowing consistent," Rodgers said of the miss to Wilson. Maybe I should've thrown it a little flatter because he was wide open. I have to hit that. It doesn't matter if it's windy, I've played in wind before. It was inconsistent, but I have to hit that."
He added about the pick-six: "I kind of read behind the right guard, couldn't see him."
The Jets were held scoreless in the second half as Seahawks K Jason Myers' two field goals cut the lead before Charbonnet delivered the final blow.
