Iowa State quarterback Rocco Becht on Jayden Higgins' season-high day
Jayden Higgins racked up 155 receiving yards in Iowa State's win over Utah. Rocco Becht talked about what its like having Higgins as a target.
The Iowa State football team appears likely to be without two important players in its Pop-Tarts Bowl matchup against Miami on Saturday.
Register Cyclones columnist Travis Hines reports that star wide receiver Jayden Higgins was not in pads at the start of the game. He did go through warm-ups with the team. It's unclear if he suffered an injury, opted out of the game or if there is another reason for him not playing.
Higgins, a senior from Miami, has put up 1,183 yards and scored nine times in 2024. In two seasons with the Cyclones, he's scored 15 touchdowns and has 2,166 yards.
Defensive back Darien Porter is in the same situation as Higgins. He warmed up but was not in pads at the start of the game. The redshirt senior has played in 61 games in his career with the Cyclones and has three interceptions, all of which came in 2024.
