Ice Cream Man TV Show Still in the Works Despite Quibi Shutdown
While Quibi has been shut down, the planned television adaptation of Image Comics' popular series Ice Cream Man is still in development.

The television show for one of Image Comics' biggest fan-favorite titles, the horror anthology series Ice Cream Man created by W. Maxwell Prince and Martin Morazzo, is still in the works.

Despite the setbacks behind-the-scenes, Prince confirmed a television adaptation of the series is still happening. "I can tell you that it definitely isn't happening at Quibi!" Prince tells CBR. "I'll say that the [Ice Cream Man] TV show is very much still alive. We're hoping to have more news very soon."

A television adaptation of the series was announced by the mobile streaming service Quibi in Feb. 2020, produced by Universal Content Productions and helmed by Sneaky Pete writers Adam and Max Reid. Since the announcement, Quibi shuttered its services due to subscriber numbers coming short of expectations.

Roku announced it acquired Quibi's library of shows to stream on its own service, free of charge to users, in Jan. 2021. Whether this acquisition includes projects in development, such as the planned Ice Cream Man adaptation is unknown, otherwise, the series may be slated for a different platform altogether.

Written by W. Maxwell Prince, illustrated by Martin Morazzo and colored by Chris O'Halloran, Ice Cream Man #23 goes on sale Feb. 24 from Image Comics.
