Jules Kounde equals Thierry Henry's 121 matches for FC Barcelona
Since his arrival in the summer of 2022, Jules Kounde has been a key part of the Barça line up for both Xavi Hernández and current coach Hansi Flick. A grand total of 121 appearances for the blaugranes since his signing from Sevilla only back up that assertion with his latest game coming in the Champions League 2-2 draw with Atalanta at the Estadi Olímpic.
Sixth on the all time list for Frenchman
The figure of 121 matches in a Barça shirt brings Kounde level with another illustrious Frenchman in Barca history: Thierry Henry. The legendary striker came to Barça in the summer of 2007, just shy of his 30th birthday, and remained at the club for the next three seasons. Kounde, with half a season less in the bank, has reached the former Arsenal man's appearance total, leaving his sixth on the all time list of appearances for French players at FC Barcelona.
Just three ahead of Kounde we find Ludovic Giuly on 124. Then come defenders Samuel Umtiti on 134 and Clément Lenglet on 160 with the top two consisting of Ousmane Dembélé (185) and Éric Abidal (193). Still just 26 years old and with a contract until 2027, Kounde still has plenty of time ahead of him to keep moving up that illustrious list.
