The Icelandic strongman could smell blood from that point forward and looked for that perfect shot, in an attempt to preserve energy.

It made the fight a more pragmatic one as the giants tired in rounds four and five.

Round six was a slow affair and Björnsson all but had his win tied up.

All three judges scored Björnsson the winner 57-54 and he was handed a championship belt.

Despite their issues, the duo embraced in the ring as the former Game of Thrones star celebrated his victory.

Björnsson stands at six foot nine and dropped to 335lbs to make sure the fight happened.

In contrast, Hall is much shorter at six foot three but still weights 313lbs.

Sat in the crowd was Martyn Ford who has earned the moniker as the 'World's Scariest Man'.

Björnsson talked up negotiations with Ford prior to fighting Hall and said he'd happily take him on down the road.

"I am not getting any younger so it would have to make sense and it would have to be sooner rather than later. I am not going to be thinking about names but someone asked me before if I would fight Martyn Ford."
