Initial reactions and observations
- I am at a complete loss of words. How could Bayern Munich lose that in the final minutes? This was clutch.
- The more you can say about the referee, the better.
- Subbing Matthijs De Ligt was not a good idea for the header battle at the end.
- Manuel Neuer saved Modeste's point blank effort that was mishit, which means that BVB were unlucky not to get all three points.
- Bayern is in crisis again Maybe?
90+4’ — Goal. Modeste makes it 2-2.
90’ — Kingsley Coman gets a second yellow due to a tactical foul.
82’ — HOW DID NEUER SAVE THAT? MODESTE MISSED HOW?
74’ — Goal. It's 2-1 for Youssoufa Mukoko
52’ — GOOOOOOAAL! Leroy Sane makes it 2! Musiala gets another assist.
45’ — Subs: Kimmich, Coman, and Stanisic on for Sabitzer, Gnabry, and Davies.
Analysis and observations at halftime- Bayern Munich have not been very good. Another Madrid-esque performance is coming? Score is currently 1-0.
- Aside from his goal, Leon Goretzka’s performance has been a spectrum from decent to bad.
- Marcel Sabitzer ain’t it today.
- Benjamin Pavard is not the same.
- Jude Bellingham should’ve been sent off for kicking Alphonso Davies in the head. Absolute joke.
33’ — GOOOOOAL! Leon Goretzka makes it 1-0!
30’ — Neuer saves Guerreiro’s shot. Bayern has done a poor job in this half.
Kickoff: We’re underway at the Signal Iduna Park!
We have lineups! There's only an hour left before kickoff. Looks like Joshua Kimmich couldn’t make it after all, but that’s still a solid Bayern Munich lineup. Julian Nagelsmann has never beaten Edin Terzic before in his career, but he’ll be looking to change that tonight — all in front of the iconic Yellow Wall at Dortmund.
Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund will face off in a Bundesliga clash that neither side is at top of the table for the first time in 13 years. For some, this might mean that the game won’t be as high-quality as previous years, because neither side are having a particularly great season. Others see it as a huge opportunity to have an impact on the outcome of this title race.
In recent seasons, Bayern have been known to hand out huge scorelines to BVB. However, all those games took place at the Allianz Arena. Dortmund is known for giving back as much as they get at the Westfalenstadion in front of the Yellow Wall. Julian Nagelsmann will not be able to count on the services of Lucas Hernandez and Thomas Muller, while Joshua Kimmich will travel to Dortmund, but is still uncertain. On BVB’s end, they’ll have to make do without Marco Reus.
Julian Nagelsmann sees this as a chance to show that his team has completely overcome their September blues and are ready to move on to the business of winning titles.
It’s Bayern time.
