World of Warcraft is Getting a Diablo 4 Crossover Mount
World of Warcraft players get to fly on top of an infernal abomination with a pre-order of Diablo 4 following its new trailer on The Game Awards show.

Lost amidst all the excitement of Diablo 4's trailer at The Game Awards is its crossover mount coming to World of Warcraft. The mutual promotion between these two Blizzard franchises has been high ever since World of Warcraft's first Annual Pass came bundled with Tyrael's Charger, a copy of Diablo 3, and an invitation to the Mists of Pandaria beta. This time around, the offerings of Hell connect Diablo 4 with Diablo Immortal, Diablo 3, and World of Warcraft by handing out four cosmetic items simply by preordering the standard edition of the game.

Diablo 4 is set to launch on June 5 in 2023, though a preorder will guarantee players access into its upcoming open beta. The latest return to the world of Sanctuary puts players in the role of the Barbarian, Sorcerer, Druid, Rogue, or Necromancer, as they push back the forces of Hell and confront Lilith's mysterious return.

World of Warcraft players who purchase Diablo 4 can expect to have a new mount in their stables: the Amalgam of Rage. An internal creature that could roughly be described as a hunchback Cerberus with fiery wings, this flying mount that encapsulates the depravity of the Burning Hells may be the perfect contrast to Tyrael's Charger introduced with Diablo 3 in mind. In addition to the Amalgam, the standard edition of Diablo 4 will gift players Inarius' wings and a murloc pet in Diablo 3, as well as a cosmetics set for Diablo Immortal.

Other possible items that players can get with a Diablo 4 preorder can be found in its collector's edition – namely, the Temptation mount and Hellborn Carapace mount armor for Diablo 4, as well as the Wings of the Creator emote. Though the Amalgam of Rage mount for World of Warcraft is available now, an important distinction needs to be made regarding its long-term availability. No matter when players purchase Diablo 4, even after the game launches in June, the mount will be theirs to own.

The Amalgam has an impressive amount of flair, as it features a unique casting animation that envelops the player in flames before the mount itself manifests in a fiery burst. Though it may be a while until Diablo 4 opens the doors to Sanctuary, World of Warcraft players may enjoy an early slice of hell as they prepare for the launch of Dragonflight's Vault of the Incarnates raid on December 12.

World of Warcraft: Dragonflight is available now for PC.
