The two-hour special will be airing on Lifetime. This is the first time the women have come together following the conclusion of the show “Dance Moms,” which first aired in 2011. “Dance Moms” focused on the Abby Lee Dance Company in Pittsburgh run by Abby Lee Miller. Why are Maddie and Mackenzie not in the reunion?
Nia Sioux went on her TikTok @niasioux to explain why she was not a part of “Dance Moms: The Reunion.”
Sioux said the reason is quite simple, “I just really didn’t want to do it.”
Fans were making up excuses for why Sioux was not a part of the special, claiming she had “sorority stuff” or “school” and she said those would not have been an issue if she wanted to be a part of the reunion.
“I love the girls and I’m really happy for them and I’m really happy that they get to share how they felt or their experiences,” Sioux said in the TikTok video. “But that’s just something that I decided I didn’t want to do and that’s OK.”
Sioux said she might do a reunion show or talk about her experiences in the future but “right now at this moment it just was not the right time for me to do that.”
Although Maddie and Mackenzie Ziegler have not shared why they aren't a part of the reunion, it can be presumed that they had a similar reasoning to Sioux's.
