Despite the postponement, Fox is still set to broadcast the Coca-Cola 600 live from Charlotte Motor Speedway, ending a streak of NASCAR Cup Series races on Fox Sports 1.

As just about everybody expected heading into the NASCAR race weekend at Charlotte Motor Speedway, rain caused Sunday night’s Coca-Cola 600 Cup Series race to be pushed back to Monday afternoon.

The decision was made fairly early on, given the weather forecast for the remainder of Sunday evening. NASCAR simply didn’t see a time period in which to fit the race, so rather than making everyone wait it out for the inevitable, the decision was made to postpone the longest race of the year to Monday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. ET.

Notably, the 400-lap race around the four-turn, 1.5-mile (2.414-kilometer) Concord, North Carolina oval is still set to be broadcast live on Fox, ending a four-race streak of races being broadcast on Fox Sports 1.

Eight of the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series season’s first 10 races were broadcast live on Fox, but it has been over a month since the most recent of those events.

The race at Talladega Superspeedway remains the most recent Cup Series race to be shown on Fox, and that race took place on Sunday, April 23.

The race at Dover Motor Speedway, which was also pushed back by a day due to rain, started the four-race streak of races on Fox Sports 1 on Monday, May 1. The race at Kansas Speedway on Sunday, May 7 and the race at Darlington Raceway on Sunday, May 14 were also broadcast live on Fox Sports 1.

While not a points race, the All-Star Race at North Wilkesboro Speedway on Sunday, May 21 was shown live on Fox Sports 1 as well.

In addition to Monday’s Coca-Cola 600, there are just two more races before NBC and USA Network take over the broadcasting duties for the remainder of the 2023 season.

The race at World Wide Technology Raceway at Gateway, which is scheduled for Sunday, June 4, is set to be broadcast live on Fox Sports 1 starting at 3:30 p.m. ET, while the race at Sonoma Raceway, which is scheduled for Sunday, June 11, is set to be broadcast live on Fox starting at 3:30 p.m. ET as well.

The Cup Series then has its lone off weekend of the year on Father’s Day weekend before NBC kicks off their portion of the broadcast schedule with a race at Nashville Superspeedway on Sunday, June 25 at 7:00 p.m. ET.
