The Champions League bracket is set with Premier League rivals Arsenal and Manchester City pitted together in the same half of the draw
Despite Arsenal being top of the Premier League and Bayern Munich being top of the Bundesliga, that is not the draw Arsenal fans will have wanted.
Their record against the Germans is a well-documented one and it doesn't make good reading. They have drawn Bayern four times previously in the knockouts and have been eliminated by them on all four occasions.
To make matters worse, Arsenal have lost each of their last three meetings with Bayern by an aggregate scoreline of 15-3. Ouch.
And if Arteta's side make it through that quarter-final, they face holders Manchester City or record Champions League winners Real Madrid. They are going to have to do it the hard way...
