Coach Nick Saban stated that Alabama quarterback Bryce Young, who suffered a shoulder injury against Arkansas on Saturday, is now day to day.
Saban stated that Young suffered a sprain at the AC joint in his throwing arm and that it is not considered serious.
Saban stated that Young had suffered similar injuries in the past. "In a few weeks, he starts responding pretty well, so we will just have to wait and see what happens."
AC joint sprains can take anywhere from 1 to 6 months to heal. Less serious conditions require less time.
Bryce Young injury updateYoung initially landed awkwardly on both his right arm & shoulder while attempting to throw the ball away in quarter 2.
The quarterback was still on the field for the next play but was clearly in pain as he threw it. He then went straight to the injury tent.
Young didn't make it out of the injury tent in Alabama's next offensive series. Instead, quarterback Jalen Milloe took his place.
Milroe scored a touchdown on the Tide's subsequent drive, thereby extending their 21-0 lead.
Alabama trainers visited Young's injury tent several times to examine his shoulder. Reports indicate that Young's parent also visited him. Witnesses said that Young was shouting from the tent.
Young emerged from the tent just a few minutes later, and ran towards Crimson Tide's locker room. However, he clearly preferred the right shoulder.
Former Alabama quarterback A.J. McCarron joined the conversation via social media, saying: "That fall by Bryce Young was his extended arm is 100% AC joint & labrum!" My arm was injured twice by my senior year when I extended my arm to reach for the goal line against Tennessee.
