Florence bank robbed, suspect under arrest
BURLINGTON, Ky. (WXIX) - A northern Kentucky bank was robbed Thursday and the suspect is under arrest, police say.
It happened at 5:01 p.m. at Fifth Third Bank, 8100 Burlington Pike in Florence.
A man walked up to the teller at the bank counter and displayed a note demanding all the money.
After taking cash from the teller, the suspect fled the bank on foot and was last seen running across Burlington Pike onto Hopeful Church Road.
Police found him with the stolen cash in the back parking lot of Kerry Hyundai.
Lloyd Owens, 51, of Louisville, was taken into custody and transported to the Boone County Detention Center.
En route and after arriving at the jail, the suspect made threats toward the officer and refused to listen to the officer’s
commands.
He is held without bond on charges of robbery, terroristic threatening, resisting arrest and tampering with evidence.
