Ben Rolfe writes: "These NFC West games are always headache-inducing to pick and Week 5 of the 2021 NFL season is no different. Based on what we saw in Week 4, the Cardinals should be the superior team. The problem is that nothing is ever easy with the Cardinals, who have lost the last two at home to San Francisco."

Draft Kings: Take Cardinals to cover against 49ersCole Huff writes: "It’s hard not to feel good about the Cardinals against any team in the NFL. They have shown that they have perhaps the league’s best offenses, and arguably one of the best defenses as well. With Jimmy Garoppolo exiting the 49ers’ Week 4 loss at the half and not returning, San Francisco may have to depend on rookie quarterback Trey Lance to go into Arizona and pull out a win, which is hard to imagine. Look for Arizona to roll in this one behind the arm of Kyler Murray and a dominant defensive performance."
Sportsnaut: Cardinals 31, 49ers 21Vincent Frank writes: "The 49ers and Cardinals have played competitive games over the past couple seasons. Last year saw Arizona win by four in Santa Clara to open the campaign and lose by eight at home later in the season. Back in 2019, San Francisco took both games by a combined 13 points. We’re not expecting as competitive of a game here with the 49ers’ quarterback situation unsettled and given Arizona’s perfect 4-0 mark. Expect the home team to win going away."

Bryan DeArdo writes: "Arizona kicked off the 2020 season by beating the then-defending NFC champions. In their Week 17 rematch, the Cardinals dropped a pivotal game to the 49ers after allowing a season-high 227 rushing yards. Rest assured that the 49ers will test the Cardinals' run defense when they head to State Farm Stadium in Week 5. Along with stopping the 49ers' running game, a big question in these matchups -- along with the Cardinals' 2021 season in general -- will be whether or not the team will get enough from their stable of running backs. The Cardinals, after all, did not bring back Kenyan Drake, the team's leading rusher each of the previous two seasons. If Arizona can establish its running game in both contests with the 49ers, it will certainly pay dividends and could lead to a series split."
Sportsnaut: Cardinals will beat 49ers in Week 5It writes: "Surprisingly, Arizona has lost each of its past two home game against the 49ers. Both came by one score with Kyler Murray struggling to do anything of substance. Don’t look for that trend to continue. This is a plus-level matchup for the Cards, especially with the likes of DeAndre Hopkins, A.J. Green and rookie Rondale Moore going up against a suspect cornerback group."

John W. Buckley writes: "Honestly no idea who the Niners’ QB will be in this one, but I’m not sure I buy the narrative that this SF team is going to be back to contender status. Redbirds take it at home. "
