NFL power rankings: Arizona Cardinals best team after Week 4 win over Los Angeles Rams

NFL power rankings Arizona Cardinals best team after Week 4 win over Los Angeles Rams
Are the Arizona Cardinals the best team in the NFL? Some NFL writers think so four weeks into the 2021 season.

The Arizona Cardinals are the best team in the NFL four weeks into the NFL season according to some NFL power rankings after Week 4.

The team is 4-0 after an impressive 37-20 win over the Los Angeles Rams in Los Angeles. Many writers had the Rams No. 1 in their power rankings last week.

Check out what NFL writers are saying about Kliff Kingsbury, Kyler Murray and the Cardinals ahead of Week 5 of the 2021 NFL season in their latest NFL power rankings (click on each link for that site's complete NFL power rankings).

NFL Week 5 picks, predictions:

Dalton Miller writes: "The Arizona Cardinals are the best team in the NFL … that is something I certainly didn’t expect to actually type in 2021. Kudos to the staff here at the Pro Football Network. Many members of our staff had high hopes for the Cardinals. I saw the secondary and offensive line and believed they would be too poor for Arizona to overcome. I underestimated Kyler Murray, the Cardinals’ weapons, and their defense as a whole. Earlier this week, I wrote that only Kyler Murray can stop Kyler Murray, and the Rams were another one of his victims on Sunday. I can’t promise Arizona will keep up this top-tier level of play. But I sincerely hope they do because they’re an endlessly entertaining watch."

Sporting News: Cardinals jump from No. 4 to No. 1

Vinnie Iyer writes: "The Cardinals didn't waste their big opportunity to prove they are the best team in a loaded NFC, and therefore the entire NFL, as they made a ton of big plays on both sides against the Rams. Their offense is even more multiple, versatile and dangerous around MVP front-runner Kyler Murray and their defensive leadership keeps shining through."

NFL Spin Zone: Cardinals go from No. 3 to No. 1

Randy Gurzi writes: "We have a new No. 1 team in our 2021 NFL Power Rankings and it’s not one that many of us saw coming. The Arizona Cardinals announced themselves as contenders in a huge way this weekend when they headed into SoFi Stadium and knocked off the Los Angeles Rams — who were the No. 1 team in these rankings entering Week 4.  It wasn’t just any win either as the Cardinals made it look easy. Following a 10-7 start for the Rams, Arizona took a commanding 24-13 lead into the half and extended that lead to 37-17 in the fourth quarter. Los Angeles scored again on a 14-yard touchdown pass from Matthew Stafford with just over a minute to go but this game was never truly in doubt. Quarterback Kyler Murray continued to show off his growth, completing 24-of-32 passes for 2685 yards and two touchdowns — as well as adding 39 yards rushing."

Fansided: Cardinals move up one to No. 2

Russell S. Baxter writes: "The club made its way to Los Angeles looking to slay the dragon known as Sean McVay. The Cardinals hoped to snap an eight-game losing streak to the Rams that saw them outscored a combined 251-91 in those contests. But this turned out to be a complete reversal of fortunes as the Cardinals rolled up 465 total yards – including 216 yards on the ground. Kyler Murray threw touchdown passes to A.J. Green and Maxx Williams. An impressive win."

NBC Sports: Cardinals rise from No. 8 to No. 4

Justin Leger writes: "The Cardinals stayed undefeated with a statement victory over the Rams on Sunday. They'll look to keep it going when they host the 49ers next Sunday. Is Kyler Murray the leading MVP candidate heading into Week 5?"
