These 7 Utah ties are headed to the Super Bowl
Andy Reid, the Kansas City Chiefs and the Super Bowl — it’s a combination that’s about as common as peanut butter and jelly the past several years.
Or, better yet, a double burger with cheese.
The Chiefs beat the Buffalo Bills 32-29 in the AFC championship game Sunday in another thriller, sealing Kansas City’s spot in its fifth Super Bowl appearance in the past six years.
The Chiefs will face the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans on Feb. 9.
It will be a rematch of Super Bowl LVII, when the Chiefs beat the Eagles 38-35.
Philadelphia advanced this time by beating the Washington Commanders 55-23 in the NFC championship game Sunday.
Kansas City, with Reid leading the way, will have its chance at a historic third straight Super Bowl title, something that’s never happened before.
With the Chiefs making another Super Bowl, that means there will be a strong Utah contingent at the NFL’s title game yet again.
Including Reid, the former BYU player and graduate assistant, there will be six Utah ties with the Chiefs at Super Bowl LIX, while the Eagles also have a former Ute on their roster.
Here’s a look at the full list of Utah ties headed to Super Bowl LIX.
