The statements come after a post on unverified celebrity gossip Instagram DeuxMoi about Cabello talking about a breakup on a flight surfaced and sparked rumors that she and Mendes had ended things.

Mendes has been open about what the two's private dynamic is like in interviews. He spoke in August about how he and Cabello did fight regularly but overall have a “really honest and open relationship.”

“We definitely fight, and we get in like the worst little arguments, but like, I think that we definitely are pretty good at picking up on when it's just ego talking,” Mendes told SiriusXM’s The Morning Mash Up. “And we usually like, call each other out.
