Sarasota, Manatee high school football Power Rankings after Week 7

SARASOTA — After all the rescheduled games, courtesy of Helene, had been played, it resulted in one team dropping a spot. Meanwhile, No. 1 Venice lost its first game of the season. With Hurricane Milton headed toward the Gulf Coast, games scheduled this week will be subject to change.

Sarasota, Manatee Top 10 football rankings

1. Venice (6-1)

Last week: Lost to IMG Academy, 21-16

Analysis: John Peacock's team lost its first game of the season following six wins. but remains in the top spot. On Thursday, the green and white is scheduled to host Riverview in a Class 7A-District 8 matchup.

2. Cardinal Mooney (6-0)

Last week: On Tuesday, Oct. 1, defeated Lakewood, 40-16

Analysis: On Friday, the undefeated Cougars are scheduled to host 6-1 Specially Fit Academy.

3. Manatee (5-1)

Last week: Defeated Pinellas Park on Sept. 30, 34-10

Analysis: Jacquez Green's Hurricanes are off this week; they host Palmetto on Oct. 18.

4. Palmetto (6-0)

Last week: Defeated Braden River, 30-8

Analysis: The undefeated Tigers are scheduled to host Lakewood Ranch on Friday in a Class 6A-District 11 matchup.

5. Riverview (2-3)

Last week: Did not play

Analysis: The Rams are scheduled to play at Venice on Thursday night in a Class 7A-District 8 matchup. Josh Smithers' team then is scheduled on Monday to play at Sarasota in another district game.

6. Parrish (5-1)

Last week: Defeated Winter Haven, 37-7

Analysis: The Bulls jump over Booker, which lost to Sebring. Dylan Clark's team is scheduled to play at Gateway on Friday night in a Class 6A-District 11 matchup.

7. Booker (3-3)

Last week: Lost to Sebring, 31-14

Analysis: The Tornadoes drop a spot after their loss at Sebring. On Thursday, Booker is scheduled to host Gibbs in a Class 3A-District 11 matchup.

8. Lakewood Ranch (4-2)

Last week: Defeated Sarasota, 24-21

Analysis: The Mustangs remain at No. 8 after their victory over the visiting Sailors. On Friday, the Mustangs are at Palmetto in a Class 6A-District 11 matchup.

9. Out-of-Door Academy (5-0)

Last week: Did not play

Analysis: The undefeated Thunder had its game at Bishop McLaughlin canceled. ODA is scheduled on Thursday to host Canterbury.

10. Southeast (4-3)

Last week: Defeated DeSoto County, 24-8

Analysis: Curt Bradley's team stays at No. 10 after its win over the Bulldogs. The Seminoles are scheduled on Friday to host Osceola.
