AUSTIN, Texas —No. 1/1 Texas Football fell to No. 5/4 Georgia 30-15 on Saturday at Darrell K. Royal– Texas Memorial Stadium. 

Quinn Ewers passed for 211 yards and two touchdowns for the Longhorns. 

The Longhorns intercepted Carson Beck twice in the first quarter including an interception by Jahdae Barron as the Bulldogs had the ball down to the Texas 18-yard line. Andrew Mukuba recorded the first interception for Texas. 

Trailing 23-0 at halftime Quinn Ewers led the Longhorns on an eight-play, 55-yard drive that ended with a two-yard touchdown pass to Isaiah Bond. Ewers went back to Bond to complete a two-point conversion. 

Jahdae Barron made his second interception of the game and the 10th team interception for Texas with Georgia driving at their 45-yard line. Barron returned the ball 36 yards to the Bulldogs nine-yard line. After a Georgia sack, Ewers connected with Jaydon Blue for a 17-yard touchdown pass to cut the Georgia lead to 23-15. 

The Bulldogs extended their lead to 30-15 with a touchdown run at the 12:04 mark of the fourth quarter. 

The Longhorns set a Darrell K. Royal– Texas Memorial Stadium attendance record with 105,215 fans at the game. 

UP NEXT 

Texas will travel to Nashville, Tenn, to take on Vanderbilt for a game at FirstBank Stadium on Saturday Oct. 26. Game time is set for 3:15 p.m.
