Locals in NFL, Week 14: Daiyan Henley, Chargers can't stop Patrick ...
Twelve players with local ties are on NFL rosters this season, including five on active rosters. Here is a look at how each player fared this week. Players are listed in alphabetical order.
* OG Joel Bitonio, Cleveland Browns: Bitonio played all 72 offensive snaps in a 27-14 loss to AFC North rival Pittsburgh. He had a penalty-free game as the Browns outgained the Steelers, 300-267. Cleveland rushed for 104 yards on 25 carries and allowed three sacks as QB Jameis Winston threw two interceptions. Winston has nine interceptions in the last five games.
* WR Romeo Doubs, Green Bay Packers: Doubs missed his second straight game after suffering a concussion against the 49ers on Nov. 24 as Green Bay lost to NFC North rival Detroit, 34-31, on Thursday Night Football.
* LB Daiyan Henley, Los Angeles Chargers: Henley saw his streak of six straight games with double-digit sacks snapped in a 19-17 Sunday Night Football loss to Kansas City. Henley had eight stops, including six solo. He also had a pass defended while playing all 69 defensive snaps plus six in special teams. On a crucial play late in the game, Patrick Mahomes dodged Henley on third down before completing a pass to Travis Kelce, which allowed the Chiefs to take two knees before kicking the game-winning 31-yard field goal, which banked in for the win.
* LB Nephi Sewell, New Orleans Saints: Sewell and Saints beat the Giants in a 14-11 offensive slopfest. Sewell played 21 snaps on special teams (72 percent of those plays) but did not get in on defense. He was called for an illegal formation on a kickoff in the first quarter.
* LB Kyle Van Noy, Baltimore Ravens: The Baltimore Ravens were on a bye, which gave Van Noy an extra week to rest his hamstring/neck injuries that kept him out of the team's Week 13 loss to the Eagles.
