Quarterback Brian Hoyer was ruled out with a head injury after being hit during the first quarter of the Patriots game versus the Packers on Sunday. Rookie Bailey Zappe has come in at quarterback.
After being hit on Sunday by the Packers, Quarterback Brian Hoyer was forced to withdraw from the Patriots' game against the Packers.
Hoyer spent some time at the medical tent before moving to the locker room for the first quarter. Hoyer was replaced by Bailey Zappe, a Western Kentucky rookie. The Patriots selected Zappe in the fourth round this year's draft. In his one-season at Western Kentucky, Zappe threw for 5,967 yard and 62 touchdowns.
Hoyer took over Sunday's game for New England after Mac Jones, New England's starting quarterback, was forced to retire due to an ankle injury sustained late in Week 3's loss to the Ravens.
Hoyer ran 5 of 6 for 37 yards, before he was forced to retire.
