Arteta's post-match thoughts

Mikel Arteta spoke to BT Sport after the match: "We had really good moments where we dominated against a really good side. We lacked that final pass or shot but we're happy to win the game and we are qualified which is the first step.

"The difference between finishing first and second is big and we want to get the job done.

"In Europe you have to control the opponent. They are very talented, used to winning and the amount of goals they have scored is incredible - we were really mature."

On Granit Xhaka's goal: "It was a great goal with the right foot, a half-volley. He is getting in these positions every game that's why he is scoring the goals."

On Bukayo Saka, who needed treatment but then came back on: "I think he will be OK."

From villain to hero for Xhaka

Pundits on both sides of the pond are commenting on how remarkable Xhaka's redemption at Arsenal has been.

Martin Keown said on BT Sport: "Granit Xhaka is now becoming an Arsenal fan favourite and who could've imagined that?

"We know he has had a difficult time at the club but that's in the past and he's doing well. He is really important in the side for Arsenal's success. If they are successful and win a trophy, he will get another contract."

Aaron West said on Paramount+: "Incredible turnaround. He went from being booed off the pitch by his own fans, giving them hand signals we can't show on camera, to completely turning it around."

Arsenal continue their perfect start to their Europa League campaign, taking their fourth win from four group stage matches. It's their third straight clean sheet in the competition.

Looking more broadly, Arsenal have won 13 of the 14 matches they've played in all competitions this season, and have yet to fail to score in a match.

Two yellow cards in one

Arsenal have bodies forward for a corner, but PSV get a hold of the ball and break the other way.

Tierney and Odegaard each commit a cynical foul to halt the attack, and both find themselves in the referee's book.
