Under the trade, as reported by ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Rams and Steelers would exchange seventh-round picks, with the Steelers giving up the No. 234 overall selection for No. 251. The Rams have reportedly agreed to cover $10.25 million of Robinson's $15.25 million salary.

The trade would officially end Robinson's tenure in Los Angeles after one season. He joined the reigning Super Bowl champions last offseason in free agency with a three-year, $46.5 million deal, but his time with the team was an expensive disaster.

Robinson, who has broken 1,000 yards three times in his career, finished last season with 33 receptions on 52 targets with 339 receiving yards and three touchdowns. The hope was that he could provide a dependable target for Matthew Stafford alongside Cooper Kupp, but the 29-year-old struggled to create the separation he has needed in the past.

His season ended after Week 11 when he needed foot surgery. The Rams agreed earlier this offseason to allow him to seek a trade and indicated they were willing to pay a part of his salary to see him go.

In Pittsburgh, Robinson would join a team that won't need him to operate at a Pro Bowl level. The team's receiver corps is led by Diontae Johnson and George Pickens, and it seems unlikely Robinson takes any playing time from them.

If the trade goes through, it would continue a busy offseason for the Rams, who have also traded away cornerback Jalen Ramsey and released linebacker Bobby Wagner.
