Ned Fulmer's Try Guys cheating scandal, explained

After he confessed to cheating on Ariel Fulmer with a show employee, Ned Fulmer was released from The Try Guys.

Fulmer stated that "Family should always have been my priority, however I lost focus and had an consensual workplace relation." "I am sorry for the pain my actions have caused the guys and the fans, but most importantly to Ariel. My marriage and my children are the only thing that matters at this time, and that is where I will focus my attention.

The show features four men trying out colonics, wig-making, and tap dancing for their first time. Ned Fulmer has since cut ties with the show. He stated in a statement that he had done an internal review and could not see a way forward. We appreciate your support as this transition takes place.

Ex-BuzzFeed employees Eugene Lee Yang, Keith Habersberger and Zach Kornfeld founded The Try Guys during their time at BuzzFeed. In 2014, they made their first video attempting to wear underwear for ladies.

Their videos were viewed over 100 million times on BuzzFeed's YouTube channel. In 2018, the quartet quit the outlet to start their own production company. Their channel has nearly 2.2 billion viewers and 7.8 millions subscribers.

Ariel Fulmer was seen alongside her husband in several DIY videos and as part the group's "Try Wives” series.

Devin Lytle was a BuzzFeed producer who produced "Lady Like" which she described as a women's version of "The Try Guys." Fulmer's departure is now "the end of an age," according to Lytle.

She said that BuzzFeed was a leader in different formats and that experimentation was key to their success. "And The Try Guys... were really at the cutting edge of quite a few of those."

Lytle also stated that she felt BuzzFeed employees were being pigeonholed into creating a persona online at the time. Fulmer created a brand image of Fulmer as a loving husband.

She said that Ned's marketing of himself as a family guy and wife guy really struck a chord with people. "And that's what I find so shocking about... this relationship," she said.
