Tornadoes hit Chicago area Crain's Chicago Business
At 7:35 p.m. The National Weather Service for Chicago said its forecast area was free of warnings.
"Storm damage has been reported throughout the Chicago area, including downed trees and debris in the road," ABC7 said.
Metra said at about 6:30 p.m. that "UPNW inbound and outbound trains currently stopped due to tornado warnings." About 7 p.m. Metra said "BNSF Inbound and outbound trains stopped in the vicinity of Lavergne through Harlem due to ongoing tornado warnings."
The weather service issued a separate warning until 7 p.m. including Vernon Hills, Lake Zurich and Long Grove.
Another NWS tornado warning is in place until 7:15 p.m. that includes Schaumburg, Elmhurst and Hoffman Estates.
