This time last year, Scottie Scheffler was taking the PGA Tour by storm, winning four times in the spring to earn the No. 1 spot in the Official World Golf Ranking. Despite briefly reclaiming the top ranking with a win at WM Phoenix open last month, Scheffler is once again playing second fiddle to current No. 1 Jon Rahm.

Scheffler almost got some payback last week at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, but eventually finished T4, failing to move up in the rankings. He was bested by World No. 3 Rory McIlroy, who finished runner-up.

Now all three players are grouped together for Thursday’s opening round at TPC Sawgrass, where the fight for World No. 1 continues.
