Texans Wire Week 12 Predictions: Does Houston secure victory ...
The Houston Texans return home for an AFC South showdown with the Titans at NRG Stadium. One team is trending up following a double-digit victory over the Dallas Cowboys on “Monday Night Football.” The other roster needs to win out if it plans on finishing above .500 in 2024.
The Texans are getting healthy on both sides of the ball right before the bye week. Pro Bowl-caliber receiver Nico Collins is off the injured reserve with a hamstring injury and caught four passes in Monday’s 34-10 win over the Dallas Cowboys. Meanwhile, Houston is expected to have back both defensive end Will Anderson Jr. and cornerback Kamari Lassiter.
“I’m excited to be back,” Anderson said. “Just to be back out there with the guys. I was trying my best to hurry up and get back. I’m good now.”
Can Houston survive a close one against an improving 2-8 Titans roster that features one of the league’s top defenses? Will Houston improve to 8-5 en route to a potential playoff-clinching scenario in Week 13?
Here’s the staff at Texans Wire’s predictions for Sunday’s showdown between two teams that have connections to the city of Houston entering Week 12’s AFC South bout.

I’m still not sold that the Texans are an AFC threat. They won by 24 over a Cowboys team that still thinks Cooper Rush is a better option than Trey Lance as QB1, yet the lead was only by seven entering halftime. Tennessee has a quality secondary that can eliminate the deep shots from Stroud or create an ill-advised turnover.
The problem for Tennessee is the offense is hit-or-miss. Will Levis will throw a touchdown pass to bring the Titans within a score, but you’re brave to bet against Joe Mixon and a healthier Nico Collins.
Houston pulls away in the fourth and wins by two scores.

The Texans should be able to finally build a winning streak with their Sunday matchup against the Titans. The offense forces a tough interior matchup against Tennessee’s defensive tackles but Joe Mixon and Nico Collins finally have a big game together. Expect DeMeco Ryan’s defense to dominate as Houston wins.

Tennessee’s defensive injuries lead to a productive Texans outing and Houston’s pass rush causes problems for Will Levis.
