Dolphins' Teddy Bridgewater: Capable in emergency duty Thursday
Bridgewater entered Thursday's 27-15 Bengals loss for Tua Tagovailoa (head/neck), with 5:13 left in the second quarter. He completed 14 of 23 passes for 193 yard with one touchdown. He also ran once for 11 yards.
Bridgewater put in the performance he was brought to Miami for. He used his experience to quickly hit the ground running, and immediately completed a 16-yard pass from Trent Sherfield to set the Dolphins up to a 52-yard field goal attempt. This was eventually blocked. Bridgewater led a nine-play, 75 yard scoring march on his first possession. He finished it off with a touchdown toss to Chase Edmonds. Bridgewater led another 88-play drive, which culminated in a field-goal and had the offense deep inside Bengals territory late down to only five before throwing an intercept at the Cincinnati nine yard line. Tagovailoa was able to travel home with the rest after being evaluated by the hospital. However, it remains to see if Bridgewater will be required to start in his place in a Week 5 matchup against the Jets.
