BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – The Texas A&M baseball team concludes its fall exhibition slate Friday night as they host Houston at Olsen Field at Blue Bell Park. First pitch is set for 6 p.m. and scheduled to last 12 innings. Admission and parking are FREE to the public and concession stands will be open. The Aggies used 17 position players and 12 pitchers en route to 20-2 victory in 12 innings over Houston Christian in their fall opener. Caden Sorrell led the offensive attack as the sophomore went 3-for-4 with a homer, triple and four RBI. On the mound, the Maroon & White staff struck out 17 batters led by Ty Baker, who logged three strikeouts in a scoreless frame.
Texas A&M is entering its first season under head coach Michael Earley, who helped the Aggies to a pair of trips to the College World Series during his time as an assistant the last three years. During his tenure in Aggieland, Earley has developed Texas A&M into one of the most powerful and potent offenses in the country. The Aggies return 22 student-athletes from last season's squad that reached the College World Series Finals, highlighted by a trio of All-Americans in Gavin Grahovac, Jace LaViolette and Ryan Prager. In the offseason, Earley and his staff welcomed a talented group of newcomers, including seven that landed on Baseball America's annual top-100 transfers list in Myles Patton, Wyatt Henseler, Gavin Kash, Connor "Bear" Harrison, Grant Cunningham, Jacob Galloway and Jamal George.
The two squads met last season at Blue Bell Park with the Maroon & White coming away with a 13-11 victory. Follow the Aggies
